Story five - Broken

This is my fifth novel. I think writing this novel is going to be tough and hard for me. Writing my stories are based on my childhood and the things I went through as a child. I find that writing these stories are helping or will help those teenagers out there who are going through the same thing I went through as a child. I never had book s like I write when I was young and a teenager myself. I'm glad that in future there will be children and teenagers who will learn they aren't alone in this world of abusive families.

The Storyline of Broken:
Since his dad walked out on them. His mother has be a workaholic and not wanting to be home. Aiden finds he isn't wanted. When his mother is home she is spitful and hurtful with her words and actions against him. It's like without his dad around he is her target. At first the words are harmless. Then when she loses her job, she takes it out on him. He is her target for all her emotions. Refused food at meal times, locked outside at night when it storms. Beaten when the house isn't tidy. He is the one she targets and not his sisters. It's like he has to try and survive somehow.

He figures out to find his dad and why he left. His dad David left to be with his partner. He works and his partner is a friendly person. They too don't want him. They want to see his sisters, but his mother refuses it. He is under attack by everyone. Nobody seems to want him around. He decides to run away. His school friend finds out what life at home was like for Aiden. John Lester keeps his secrets until he finds Aiden had run off. He talks to the GC at school and they invovle the social services and they find Aiden and he gets put into the system. His sisters are also taken and put in the custody of their father.

Getting back into Gear - Writing and Blogging

It's been a hard time the last few months. I've been working on one project. I wanted to finish it, but it's been hard getting it done. I used my life experiences of moving from England to America. The story I've spent most of my last few months writing and getting the story flowing. 'The Lonely American Road' is about a girl with two younger brothers and her single dad moving to Indiana to be with his online girlfriend with two young girls. Chloe is the main character and is the oldest of all five kids together. She struggles with many things. In the end she finds she can deal with having more siblings, but the step-mom thing is hard on her. She thinks her dad is trying to replace her mom who died of cancer.

After running off to her mother's parents in Boston, MA. She finds she has been missed by her grandparents and has gained two cousins. Harriet and Michelle. They too are younger than her. She finds things hard to deal with. Her grandparents take her back to Indiana. They fly there. Soon the whole family is together as Chloe's dad marries Kim, her step-mom. Chloe finds she can cope now the family is re-united.

I used so much of my real life of gaining a step-dad when I was just a mere babe. The only difference is my step-dad was abusive. Chloe's step-mom isn't. Chloe's dad tells her she is special, reminding him of her mom every single day. It's the first happy ending story I've written. Well still writing. I'm finding it hard to finish it though.

I didn't have a happy childhood at all. I began healing when I met my partner and his parents and siblings. They welcomed me with open arms. My partner's mom called me her daughter. She said I came to her in replacement of her lost daughter she miscarried. It showed me there were people in this world willing to love you even if your not their own child. My partner's mom loved me like I was her own child. It took me some time to accept. I did. I had six wonderful years with her as my adoptive mom. Even though I was full grown and an adult.

Barbie gave me a loving mother figure to show me the way. She taught me what it means to love unconditional. Just like God and Jesus does teach us all in his word the Holy Bible. I became a Catholic due to her showing me that not all Catholics are bad. Plus, I now have a happy life with my partner and their family. Barbie died almost two years ago of Cancer. I miss her every minute of every hour of every day. She was my mom to me. I couldn't have had a better teacher to show me how to receive and give love. She and my partner was what I needed when I got here.

Now I miss her so much. I'm glad I have my partner as they remind me of her. Plus, I have their brothers and their dad to help me cope...

Progress Report: NaNoWriMo

It's now half way into the writing month. NaNoWriMo is a writing month. It's where you write a novel in 30 days. November is writing month. I'm up to 10,000+. My story is a teen, edgy story. I use my abusive childhood as my story themes. The title of my NaNo story is called 'Valley of Echoes.'  I'm on Chapter Five.

I'm about to try write some more. I need to stop procrastinating and write. I find writing brings me to life. I can show the world there are people like me out there. I'm catholic, a survivor of many forms of abuse by not only my parents, but my brothers, grandparents and my Uncle David. Imagine your sexually, emotionally, physically and verbally.

Write what you want to read. Write what you feel you have a story to write. To let children and teens know that God and Jesus is there, they just need to pray and ask God into there lives. They have to have a contrite spirit and a humble heart.

Poem - I love you

You don't know
You can't see
What really goes on
Inside of me
My eyes shield
How I feel inside
You don't know
How much I've cried
My mouth restricts
What I'd really say
And make you think
I'm perfectly okay
I know you tried
You mean well
But I have things
I'd never tell
To truly laugh
To really smile
Is something I haven't
Done in a while
You'll never know
How I really feel
I don't know how long
It will take to heal.
Just know that
I still love you
After everything
That I've been through.
You'll never see
Inside my mind
I'm protecting you
From what you'd find.
I protect you because
I love you so much.
This is my pain
You'll never know

Childhood + ? = Writing Career

I'm a member of a few writing groups on Yahoo Groups. As you can tell by the title of this blog it's my writing blog. I got the title of this post from a person who writes on a blog with many other writers. I thought to myself this is a good thing to post about. Just today has been rather mixed. My partner is having trouble health wise and I want to write on the story we are both doing this Christmas.

I have several projects I'm working on right now. The thing is how my childhood relates to my writing. When I was in England. I was born in Ireland, but raised by my family in the south east of England. My parents divorced when I was four. Mother blamed me for everything after that date for my father leaving, my grandfather and Uncle David for abusing me and my brother Ian. Mother never listened to us. So the abuse went on for years. Plus things like being locked outside during a thunder storm as a child and teen. Being refused food when the family was eating.

Anyhow, I was sent to boarding school on the south east coastline in Margate, Thanet, England. My boarding school was a few minutes from the lovely sandy beaches of Thanet. I made some good friends. Some taught me how to read as I couldn't at this stage. Taryn, Caroline, Nikki, Lorraine and Kerry became my best friends while in school.

Taryn would read my poetry and say I was a good writer. I found writing poetry was a way to express my emotions and thoughts I hid deeply inside.  She showed my journal and poetry to our English teacher and Mrs Telfer said I had amazing talent. I never believed her. It also never stopped me writing. I was fifteen when I left school and had to live with my family.

Taryn would rescue me daily to spend time with her and we soon found we had a lot in common. Now she is in heaven with my Nana Lily. Plus my MIL Barbie is up there. She died last month. She was another one who told me I had talent. I have written a lot of poetry, dark depressing at times, but some light ones. I now written three novels, for MG/YA christian stories. I will keep writing till I am good at grammar and punctuation. I do need to improve them a little.

I hope one day, I can publish some poetry or one my novels. I just found since October 2005 I've been writing as a full time career move. I'm disabled and have many health issues. I write to relax and get emotions out. I just feel so alive when I write.

This is the reason I write, what is yours?
